John Watrus Beckwith

Doctor of Divinity 1878

"Bishop (Stephen) Elliott planted the seeds all over Georgia which have since grown into vigorous life. There followed the wise administration of Bishop John Watrous Beckwith, who through the trying days of Reconstruction restored and rebuilt the shattered temples of the land." - The Living Church, January 21, 1945.
